Ctss Climbing The Seven Summits

Pre-trip/Day Zero

- Meet at the trailhead
- Training session: Snowshoeing efficiency and packing
- Snowshoe to Base Camp by Blue Lake
- Afternoon Training session: Introduction to Expedition camping, set up camp

Day 1

Basic Mountaineering Skills Training Day OR Summit Climb to Kozi (weather dependent)

- Crampon technique
- Ice axe use and self-arrest
- Climbing efficiency and moving in the mountains
- Fixed line ascension
- Rappelling
- Snow anchors and running protection
- Glacier travel
- Knots and hitches
- Ice climbing at Blue Lake (condition dependent)

If the weather is more favorable today, make a summit bid on snowshoes to the top of Australia and return to camp.

Day 2

Day 3

- Final morning of training (covering more of the curriculum)
- Break down camp and snowshoe return to the trailhead (approx. 4-5 pm)
