Day 01: Arrive at Tribuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu A representative from Kalapatthar Trek & Expedition will greet and accompany the guest from the airport to their hotel. The guests are briefly explained about the program they will be participating on.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour One of our guides will accompany the guests for their sightseeing excursion in Kathmandu where they will be visiting the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa – The Monkey Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, all of them declared as the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Day 03: Kathmandu – Pokhara [910m/2,985 ft]: 6 hrs Soon after breakfast, the group will set off on a long scenic drive to Pokhara, the second largest city of Nepal. After checking in to the hotel and taking rest, leisure boating on the picturesque Fewa Lake will be arranged for making the evening pleasant.
Day 04: Pokhara – Naya Pul and Trek to Tikhe Dhunga [1,495m/4,905 ft]: 4 hrs After a quick breakfast, we will take a 42km drive to Naya Pul via Lumle village from where a walk of about 20 minutes will proceed up to Birethanti. From here, the trail traversing through bamboo forests, large waterfall and swimming hole takes us to Ramghai where lunch will be served. After the relaxing lunch, a gradual climb along the trail up on the side of the valley is followed which takes us to Tikhe Dhunga.
Day 05: Tikhe Dhunga – Ghorepani [2,850m/9,348 ft]: 7 hrs Crossing a stream on a suspension bridge near the camp site, we walk from Tikhe Dhunga ascending a steep stone staircase of about 3300 steps to a large Magar village of Ulleri at 2,080m. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields taking us to a camp site for rest and water stop after an hour’s walk. The trail crosses two sparkling streams before making a short final climb to Nangethati where we will be stopping for lunch. Thanti is a Nepali word for “rest house”. From here, we will climb to Ghorepani at 2,850m where we will be welcomed by the picturesque sight of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6,940m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Hiunchuli (6,441m) and Tarke Kang (7,193m).
Day 06: Hiking -Poonhill [3,180m/10,430 ft], trek to Tadapani [2,500m/8,200 ft]: 6 – 7 hrs We will hike to Poonhill early in the morning to catch the captivating view of sunrise radiant over the Annapurna Himalayan Range. After enjoying the sunrise, we will descend to Ghorepani for a hot breakfast before carrying on our trek to Tadapani.
Day 07: Tadapani – Chhomrong [2,020m/6625 ft]: 5 hrs A steep downhill descent through the forests takes us to Gurung, a Gurung village named after the ethnic group living there. The trail from here takes us to Chhomrong where we will stay for the night at the finest guesthouse in the place.
Day 08: Chhomrong – Dovan [2,600m/8,528 ft]: 5 hrs From here, the trail goes down to the Chhomrong Khola from where ascend begin up to Khuldighar at 2,380m which accommodates an ACAP Check Post. Hereby begins the climb towards Dovan where we will be staying for the night.
Day 09: Dovan – Deurali [3,200m/10,500 ft]: 4 hrs The climb through Bamboo marks the beginning of the day at Dovan from where we surpass Himalayan Hotel as we advance towards Hinko at 3,020m. The accommodation for the night will be made available at Deurali on the ridge above Hinko.
Day 10: Deurali – Annapurna Base Camp [4,210m/13,810 ft]: 5 hrs Climbing the trail past the base area of the virgin mountain Machhapuchhre (3,700m), we will ascend towards the Annapurna Base Camp. No one is allowed to scale Machhapuchhre which is why it could still be called a virgin mountain. The area in which this magnificent mountain is nestled on is known as Annapurna Sanctuary. The day’s trek could either be ended here or further two hours trek to Annapurna Base Camp could be continued from where the backdrop looks mesmerizing. The night is spent at the base camp.
Day 11: ABC – Bamboo [2,310m/7,575 ft]: 7 hrs From here, we will be retracing our trail of the day before as we descend down to Bamboo. The trail drops by 1,700m to the bank of Modi Khola on the way to Bamboo where few teahouses and lodges are available for overnight stay.
Day 12: Bamboo – Jhinu Danda (Hot Spring) [1,780m/5,840 ft]: 6 hrs Today we will be descending down to Chommrong following the same trail that we took to ascend to ABC. As we pass Khuldighar, we will move towards experimental sheep farm tracing the trail through rhododendron and bamboo forests that descends to Jhinu hot spring where we will relieve all the stress and exhaustion of the journey. The bath at natural hot spring in Jhinu is the best way to beat the anxiety of the expedition.
Day 13: Jhinu Danda – Pokhara [910m/2,985 ft]: 5 hours walk and 1 hour drive Following the trail along the right side of Modi Khola for five hours from Jhinu, we will arrive at Birethanti. This walk is one of the most relaxing of the entire trek. From here, twenty minutes walk will take us back to Naya Pul from where we drive for an hour to get back to Pokhara.
Day 14: Pokhara – Kathmandu: 6hrs A scenic drive from Pokhara will bring the team back to Kathmandu where the evening is spend either relaxing or shopping for souvenirs. A farewell dinner will be organized to commemorate the closer of the exciting journey.
Day 15: Farewell A representative from Kalapatthar Trek & Expedition will take the guests to the airport approximately three hours before their scheduled flight.
