Situated in South Asia, between some of the world’s highest peaks and the Arabian Sea, Pakistan boasts plenty of diverse and beautiful landscapes to explore. While the uppermost third of the country is classified as the northern highlands, the country’s tallest mountains are situated in the northernmost corner of the country.
Complete with sections of the Karakoram Range, Himalayas and Hindu Kush, Pakistan is a top destination for advanced mountaineers. Two of the world’s 10 tallest mountains are located in Pakistan and some of the world’s most beautiful treks loop around the bases of these massive peaks.

The world’s second highest peak rises to an incredible 8,611 metres (28,251 feet) in elevation and requires a high level of rock, ice and snow climbing on exposed ridge lines. Overall, the trip to the top of K2 takes between eight and nine weeks, including a scenic trek through the heart of the Pakistani Himalayas, the acclimatisation and final ascent.
