Day 1: Orientation & Hike To Base Camp – 6,000 ft (1,829 m)
We will meet at the Sedro-Woolley Ranger Station at 7 am and drive to the trailhead. After a gear check and introduction to Leave No Trace camping, we will hike to our camp near the edge of the Easton Glacier at approximately 6,500’.
Day 2: The Mountaineering Day School – 6,800 ft (2,072 m)
We will cover the basic mountaineering skills and safety practices required to climb Mt Baker, including equipment use, glacier travel techniques and safety protocols.
Day 3: Summit Day and Descent – 10,781 ft (3,286 m)
Getting a pre-dawn start, we will climb the Easton Glacier to the summit. After an hour at the top to enjoy the views, we will descend back to camp. After lunch, we will pack up camp and hike back to the trailhead.
