Climbing History
The Langtang Valley was first explored by mountaineer Bill Tilman in 1949. Langtang Lirung (7,227m) was first climbed in 1978. The 2015 earthquake devastated Langtang village, killing over 300 people. The valley has been rebuilt and reopened to trekkers.
