Central Circuit (7-9 days): Classic route to Margherita Peak via multiple huts. Kilembe Trail (7-8 days): Alternative approach from southwest. Margherita Summit: Glacier crossing and rock scrambling. Bujuku Loop for trekkers.

Weather and best time to go

Weather: The weather of the Rwenzori Mountains region is very wet and humid, with mist and rain occurring throughout the year. The best time to climb or trek in this region is during the two short dry seasons from June to August and from December to February, when the rain is slightly less frequent and the trails are less muddy. However, even during these periods, rain and snow are still common and unpredictable, so climbers and trekkers should be prepared for all kinds of weather conditions. The temperatures vary greatly depending on the altitude, ranging from hot and humid at the base of the mountains to below freezing at the peaks.
