An airport representative from Bold Himalaya pick you up upon your arrival. Then transfer you to the hotel for a short briefing about the trip. In the meantime, you can roam around the city to get familiar with the new city or take a rest and relax.

Arrival in Kathmandu Airport & transfer to Hotel (1,345m/4,428ft)

After breakfast at the Hotel, sightseeing starts with a visit to Kathmandu - Swayambhunath (monkey temple), and Boudhanath. In the afternoon, meet with the guide and check the trekking gear for final preparation. (Overnight at Hotel)

Kathmandu Sightseeing & Final Preparation

After breakfast from the Hotel, we drive to the airport to catch a flight to Lukla (2,600m). After arrival in Lukla, the trail leads north from the airstrip to the edge of the Lukla Plateau. The walk is easy and goes through several villages reaching Phakding (2,800m). (Overnight at Tea House Lodge – Phakding)

Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding (2,610m)

Today’s trekking is a bit difficult and uphill. After breakfast, we entered the Sagarmatha National Park. The park preserves the rare floras and faunas. Then we cross several bridges before ascending to the heart of Khumbu region, Namchhe Bazaar. Namche is known as the Sherpa Capital where you are presented with striking views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and Kongde Ri.  (Overnight at Tea House Lodge)

Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)

This day is an acclimatization day spent in and around Namche Bazaar. The Khumjung Valley Excursion begins at the marketplace with a steep climb of about one hour to Shyangboche. From the top of Shyangboche, one can see beautiful views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Themserku (6608m), Nuptse (7879m), and Lhotse (8383m). After we trail downwards to Khumjung, where one can see the Sir Edmund Hillary School and hospital. (Overnight at Tea H

Namche Bazaar – Khumjung Valley Excursion (3,790m/12434ft)

Another amazing day in the trip, we go by the eastern ridge with views of rhododendron forest and descend through the forest. We cross the Dudh Koshi River and after that, we ascend uphill which leads us to the Buddhist land. We may see Himalayan Thar and Pheasants along the way. Now, we reach Tengboche Village. Here we can see the famous Tengboche Monastery which is also a pilgrimage

Namche Bazaar – Tengboche (3,870m/13,664ft)

From Tengpoche, it's a short steep, and muddy descent until a suspension bridge then ascending to Pheriche. While walking one passes small villages like Diboche through birches, conifers, and Rhododendron forest. After a long walk, the trail passes several villages such as Pangboche, and reaches Pheriche. Tengboche – Pherichhe (4,240m/13,910ft)

Leaving Pheriche the trail leads a very soft way up to Dugla (4,620m). After that it ascends for about 2 hours, then flat to Lobuche. Walking time takes about 6 hours. (Overnight at Tea House Lodge - Lobuche)

Pheriche – Lobuche (4,930m/16,174ft)

From Lobuche, the rail is relatively flat with several small ascends and descends to Gorak shep which is nestled below the summit of Mt. Pumori (7,161m.) and the sheer west face of Nuptse. This takes 2 Hours. In the afternoon you will be visiting EBC (5400m) with a guide. The trail to EBC takes you along the Khumbu glacier. From here you can observe the blue ice and the Khumbu icefall. This trekking will be an unforgettable experience. (Overnight at Tea House Lodge – Gorak Shep).

Lobuche – Gorak shep- Everest Base Camp (5,160m/16,929ft)

Excursion to Kalapathar. From Gorak Shep, the trail is a steep ascent to the top of a small peak, Kalapathar 5545m meaning "black rock". From here we can see Mt.Everest, Mt.Nuptse, Mt.Ama Dablan, Mt.Kantega, Mt.Tamserku, Mt.Tawatse and Mt.Pumori all present themselves in a 360-degree panorama. It’s possible to begin the ascent to Kalapathar very early in the morning and sunrise can be seen over the Himalayan range. After Kalapathar, the trail leads down to Dingbouche. Gorak Shep – (Kalapathar)- Dingbouche (4,440m/14,566ft)

After breakfast, the trail leads uphill to Chhukung (4700m) and steep climb up to Chhukung for 360 views of the Himalayas. Chhukung is the entry point for the Island Peak Expedition trip. In Chhukung you will meet the climbing guides and cooks. From this point day trips to Glacier or to Imjatse Valley can be done. (Overnight at Tea House Lodge - Chhukung).

Dingboche - Chhukung (4,700m/15,419ft)

The trail leads a fairly steep way climbing south and then turning east to the main line of the valley. It then winds along or below the southern flank of the moraine from the Lhotse Glacier. The trail continues along a streamside leading to what we call Big-rock. The route to the Amphu Lapcha lies to the southeast. A crisis cross route through the Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines leads to a wide valley flanking the southwest side of Island Peak. Here there will be briefings, preparations & tanning about the climb. Overnight in Island Peak Base Camp (5,200m) (Overnight at Tent Camp)

Chhukung - Island peak Base Camp (5,087m/16,689ft)

The trail to High Camp is steep and rocky. Along the way, we can see beautiful views of Imja glacier and lake. (Overnight at Tent Camp – High camp)

Island Peak Base Camp- High Camp (5,500m/18,044ft)

Island Peak Ascent (6,189m/20,305ft), from early about 3 am in the morning will have to start climbing the rock gully towards the summit. This is not difficult but there are several short rock steps to climb before you emerge on the right side of the gully. The route then follows a ridgeline, which leads to an exhilarating and exposed traverse onto the snout of the summit glacier. You will need to rope up for the glacier as it contains several crevasses but it leads without difficulty to a 100m(330ft) snow and ice slope (40-45Â°) on which the guides will fix a rope. From the top of this slope, it is 3 rope lengths along a sharp summit ridge leading to the top. After enjoying the summit views you will descend all the way to Base Camp and then Chhukung. Island Peak Summit (6,189m/20,305ft) and Back to Chhukung

The trail makes a gradual descent through scrub junipers and around Mani stones as it follows the hillside. The trail passes many Mani walls in deep rhododendron forests where crossing after the Imja Khola, the trail climbs many carved Mani stones to Pangboche. Pangboche Gompa is the oldest in Khumbu; a visit will be well worth it. (Overnight at Tea House Lodge – Tengbouche)

Chhukung – Tengbouche

This is the day to return back Namchhe Bazaar and the path leads downhill to Phungitenga and we continue the flat trail until Namchhe. Here you can explore The Everest National Park Museum which houses many mountaineering and Himalayan artifacts. (Overnight at Tea House Lodge – Namche)

Tengbouche – Namche ( 3,440m)

We trek back to Lukla through the same route, crossing several suspension bridges and Sherpa settlements. Our goal today is to reach Lukla before the sunset for celebration of our successful trip. (Overnight at Tea House Lodge – Lukla)

Namche – Lukla (2,800m)

We take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu. And maybe you can go shopping or buy souvenirs for your friends and family. Or better you can relax, have a massage, and dine the best meals in the city in some of the best restaurants. (Overnight at Hotel)

Day 18:	Lukla – Kathmandu

After winding up a successful trip, our representative drops you off at the airport for your further journey.  You are dropped off at the airport around 3 hours before the departure so that there may not be any delays. Have a safe journey!

Nepal Ascent Treks

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport we offer you pick up facility from the airport and manage your stay at the most comfortable hotel in the city. You get to meet the team of trekkers and together we prepare for the trek. At the evening we offer you lavish welcome dinner with authentic Nepali Cuisine.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU(1,300M/4,264FT)

We offer you short trip to historical and cultural sites around Kathmandu valley: Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa and Pashupatinath temple. You can also do some souvenir shopping during the sightseeing. After sightseeing we head back to hotel and get our clothing and trekking equipment ready and prepare for the trek.

DAY 2: KATHMANDU VALLEY SIGHTSEEING AND TREK PREPARATION(1,300M/4,264FT)

The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla lets you enjoy the beauty of green hills with a background of snowy mountain peaks. The trek begins from Lukla and we head towards Phakding passing through Cheplung village enjoying the sight of Mount Khumbila. We stay for the night at Phakding.

DAY 3: FLY TO LUKLA AND TREK TO PHAKDING(2,652M/8,700FT):3-4HOURS

We walk the trail passing through pine forest and crossing Dudh Koshi River. We then reach entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. Moving ahead, we reach Namche Bazaar, the famous Sherpa village. From Namche Bazaar we can have sight of Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse. We spend the night at Namche Bazaar.

DAY 4: TREK TO NAMCHE BAZAAR(3,440M/11,283FT):5-6HOURS

We stay for a day at Namche Bazaar to adjust with the altitude condition. Namche Bazaar is the main market area of the region with small local tea houses, restaurants, shops and trading areas around. We explore the areas observing the traditional and cultural Sherpa life. We can also choose to hike to Sagarmatha National Park from where the beautiful sight of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and others can be visible. Rare species of flora and fauna can be spotted along the way. We end the day thus and get a good night’s sleep in hotel at Namche Bazaar.

DAY 5: ACCLIMATIZATION DAY AT NAMCHE(3,440M/11,283FT)

The trek passes through Dudh koshi river and along lush rhododendron forest. Heading ahead to Tengboche, the beautiful view of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse and Mount Ama Dablam greet you along the way. Reaching Tengboche we get to visit the most famous and largest monastery in the region called Tengboche monastery. We conclude the day’s trek at Tengboche.

DAY 6: TREK  TO TENGBOCHE(3,870/12,694FT):5HOURS

We start the trek walking through evergreen forests with pines and conifers. The area is also rich with colorful rhododendron bushes. We then take the trail to Pangboche, crossing Imja river. The trail takes us to famous Pangboche monastery. We again walk ahead and reach Imja valley and from there towards Dingboche from where we get to see field of various kind of crops like barley, buckwheat and potatoes, carefully protected from cold winds and animals. We spend the night at Dingboche.

DAY 7: TREK TO DINGBOCHE(4,360/14,300FT):5-6HOURS

We start the trek climbing through Duglha and Chupki Lhara. The area is decorated with prayers flags as memorials for departed souls. We move ahead towards Khumbu glacier where the great peaks Pumori and Maha Langur himal can be seen up close. We spend the night in Lobuche.

DAY 8: TREK TO LOBUCHE(4,940M/16,207FT):4HOURS

The trail to Everest Base Camp passes through Gorak Shep Lake. The walk ahead takes us to Indian army mountaineers’ memorial. Walking through rocky terrain in such high altitude can wear out the tired body. But upon reaching the Everest Base Camp, the spellbinding view of mountain peaks and colorful tents contrasted against the snowy beauty makes you forget the arduous journey. We will then get back to Gorak Shep for the night.

DAY 9: TREK TO EVEREST BASE CAMP(5364M/17,594FT) AND BACK TO GORAK SHEP(5170 M/16,961FT): 7-8HOURS

We start our hike early in the morning. After walking some hours we reach the top of Kala Patthar (meaning black rock in local language), which is the sunrise viewing point. From the top we get to see 360° view of mountains around with the closest view of Mount Everest. Down below we can see the deep and dangerous Khumbu glacier. Also, we can see gigantic view of Mount Pumori from the top of Kala Patthar. Mount Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserkhu and many other mountains can be viewed up close from the top. We then return back to Lobuche and spend the night there.

DAY 10: TREK TO KALA PATTHAR (5545M/18,192FT) AND BACK TO LOBUCHE(4940M/16,207FT): 6-7 HOURS

Today we will be walking from Lobuche Base Camp to Lobuche high camp. It takes around 4 hours to reach the high camp. The trail is rocky and snowy. We need to be extra careful when walking through such risky trails. We then reach the high camp. We set up our camp and enjoy the views around. We walk around for some time to help in acclimatization. Then our trekking guides will orient and provide training on climbing. You will be informed about different types of climbing equipments and then instructed on ways of properly using the equipments and gears. Night at the camp.

DAY 11: TREK TO HIGH CAMP(5,400M/17,712FT) AND PRE-CLIMB TRAINING: 3-4 HOURS

Today is the most awaited day of this trek. We start the trek early in the morning walking up towards the summit. We walk though the eastern side of the peak that offers panoramic view of many mountain peaks. The walk can get tough and slippery. We should carefully make use of the climbing gears and equipments. Upon reaching the summit of the peak we go speechless by seeing the magnificent beauties around. We get the enchanting view of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori and many other peaks around. We celebrate our success over scaling the peak. We take pictures and enjoy the moment together. We then return back to the high camp.

DAY 12: LOBUCHE SUMMIT(6,119M/20,070 FT) AND BACK TO HIGH CAMP: 8-10 HOURS

We will leave Lobuche High Camp early and head towards Dughla. We will walk along the beautiful Imja valley and walk towards Dingboche. We cross Dingboche and will pass few small huts scattered around the Imja valley area. The walk will then ultimately bring us to Chhukung. From Chhukung we will take our way towards Island peak. We will stay for the night at Chhukung.

DAY 13: TREK TO CHHUKUNG(4,730M/15,518FT): 6-7 HOURS

We will take rest for a day at Chhukung. As in this trip we will be climbing two peaks we will need to gather enough strength to climb the next peak immediately. So, rest for a day is necessary. We will spend the day by giving rest to the body and going for the light walk around.

DAY 14: REST DAY IN CHHUKUNG(4,730M/15,518FT)

We head toward Island Peak Base Camp from Chhukung taking the steep uphill walk. We follow the southern uphill trail and then catch the eastern trail of the valley. Walking ahead we follow the trail down the southern side of the glacial ridge of Lhotse glacier. Next, we take the flat trail alongside the icy stream. The path ahead takes us to the glacial ridges of Imja and Lhotse glacier. Walking further ahead we reach the Island Peak Base Camp which lies in the south western side of the peak. We spend the night at the base camp.

DAY 15: TREK TO ISLAND PEAK BASE CAMP(5,200M/17,060FT): 3-4 HOURS

We take the steep uphill trail from the base camp through the rocky path. Walking through the rocky areas we take the route through the moraine towards the summit. We make use of ropes whenever required. Our guides will be there to help you in scaling up. Enjoying the majestic view around, we climb further ahead, towards the peak. Upon reaching the summit the success of finally reaching the summit will leave you feeling elated and exhilarated. We take the pictures together and then head back to the base camp. We reflect on our days climb enjoy together and take a good night’s sleep at the base camp.

DAY 16:  ISLAND PEAK SUMMIT(6,189M/20,305FT) AND BACK TO BASE CAMP: 10-12 HOURS

We keep a day as a reserved day so that it will cover if any unfavourable weather condition appears and we will have to stop our day. Such unexpected situation is likely as the mountain areas get extreme powerful winds and in such a situation climbing the peak becomes impossible. So, a day is set aside to cover for this.

DAY 17: RESERVED DAY

We take the downhill walk through the valley and passing Khumbu river We walk ahead through the Sherpa villages and head ahead towards Pangboche village. We visit the oldest monastery in the village and finally reach the Pangboche village. From there you get to view the beauty of mountain peaks as well as watch the flowing Imja river down below.

DAY 18: TREK TO PANGBOCHE(3,985M/13,074FT) 5-6 HOURS

We walk ahead from Pangboche through the downhill trail towards the Imja river. The walk then takes us through the rhododendron and pine forests and towards the Tengboche village. Further ahead, we cross the suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi river and take the trail ahead towards the village called Sansa. We continue walking ahead until finally reaching Namche Bazaar. We spend the night at Namche Bazaar.

DAY 19: TREK TO NAMCHE BAZAAR:4-5 HOURS

We take the rocky trail downward toward Dudh Koshi river. Upon crossing the river we head towards Lukla crossing Monjo (Sagarmatha National Park entry and exit). Walking downhill and crossing the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi river, we walk ahead to Phakding. From Phakding we catch the trail uphill until finally reaching Lukla. Upon reaching Lukla we give rest to our aching body and spend the night in a lodge.

DAY 20: TREK TO LUKLA: 6-7 HOURS

We take a flight back to Kathmandu and upon reaching Kathmandu we might roam around the city for some souvenir shopping. We organize farewell dinner for you and celebrate successful completion of trek and exchange final greetings and wishes and prepare for final departure.

DAY 21: FLY TO KATHMANDU:35-40MINUTES

Today is the final day and we get ready for the departure. We offer you the facility to drop at the Tribhuvan International Airport. We exchange final greetings and wishes and hope to see each other next time as well. We wish pleasant journey and bid the final goodbye.
