Mera Peak Climbing

Mera peak is an igniter for above the 8000m though it is considered the highest trekking peak of Nepal. It is in Makalu Barun National Park in Khumbu Himalayan Range.

Makalu Barun National Park is an inhabitant of endangered animals as well as the highest mountain peaks: Mt. Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Cho-Oyu (8201 m), and Makalu (8464 m). When hierarchizing the peak of Nepal, Mera peak comes under the Technical Peak. Therefore, the itinerary - Mera Peak adventure has been designed professionally with acclimatization and spares days.

Mera peak requires some mountaineering experience, physical fitness, and knowledge/ idea about using ice-ax, crampons, harnesses, etc. In the base camp of Mera peak, our professional climbing guide will give a short lecture about using the climbing gears, the technical part of climbing, which encourages climbing.

After the scenic flight to Lukla, you will head to Chutok La Pass. Bypassing the Chutok - La, the trails navigate to the rivers and suspension bridge, village, and stupas. The continuous trail passes through the blue pine forest of rhododendron trees and descends to meadowland. We reached Mera Peak base camp. The stunning views of above 7000m mountains will see from the base camp.

Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport
Welcome to Nepal! We will receive you at the airport and transport you to the hotel.

Day 02 Pre-trip meeting and sightseeing around Kathmandu valley
After breakfast, we organize a short meeting in the hotel lobby. The meeting finalizes the preparation of the trek. Soon, the day tour will start, and on the tour visit the most highlighted places of Kathmandu.

  • PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE
    Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most visited and sacred places for Hindus. According to Hindu mythology, Pashupatinath is one of four Dham. It is not only a religious place but also a cremation place. The dead body is burning with firewood on the bank of the holy river Bagmati.
  • BOUDDHA STUPA
    Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the largest Buddhist shrines in the world. While touring Buddha, you can meet the monks, learn about Buddhism, and gather information about Thankas and it's significant.
  • BHAKTAPUR DURBAR SQUARE
    Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a royal palace built centuries ago when Nepal had 22 and 24 state kingdoms. The palace is famous with the name fifty-five windows durbar, Nyatapol Mandir the tallest temple in Nepal. The Lion Gate, Golden Gates, The statue of King BhupatindraMalla, and the pottery where the potter makes are the main attractions of Bhaktapur.

After finishing the tour, the evening time is to review the luggage for the trek. If you are interested you can walk around Thamel, choose the restaurant for dinner.

Day 03 Fly to Lukla (2840m) & trek to Chutanga
Early morning get up and prepare for the trek. After having breakfast in the hotel, the trek guide will meet you and take you to the airport to fly to Lukla. The 35 minutes scenic flight takes you to the Tenzing-Hillary airport. Upon your arrival, the guide will introduce the porters/staff of your trekking and head to Chutanga, which takes three hours walking from Lukla.

Day 04 Trek to Zatrabok (Thuli Kharkiv) via Zatrawala Pass
We cross Zatrawal Pass, after which the trail goes along mountainsides through the Khari Khola valley and reaches Zatrabok

Day 05 Trek to Khote
After having a delicious breakfast in camp, we start to walk on rocky and barren landscapes, which give stunning views of mountain summits, and the wooded region below the trail, and finally reached Khote.

Day 06 Trek to Trek to Thangnak (4350m)
Today the trail leads to Thangnak via Hinku Valley through summer grassland. The continuous way between Kusum Kangaru (6369m) and the west top of Mera Peak.

Day 07 Trek to Khare (4900m)
Head off to Khare (4900m) through the moraine of Dig Glacier.

Day 08 Acclimatization day at Khare

Day 09 Trek to High Camp (5800m)
On the most amazing day of the trip, from the high camp you will see the soaring world’s highest mountains: Makalu (8464), Chamlang (7290m), Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), etc.

Day 10 Summit to Mera peak (6470meters) and then return to Khare (4900meters)
Today is the primary goal of the trek. Wake up very early, and the guide will check the weather condition. After a green signal, the trip will start to summit. Afterward, a short time in the top, you will descend to Basecamp, take lunch, rest for a few hours and return to Khare.

Day 11 Contingency Day
Spare a day in case of bad weather.

Day 12 Trek to Khote (3600m)
The descending trail takes you back to Khothey via Tangnang.

Day 13 Trek to Thuli Kharka/ Zatrabok(4200 m)
Your trek descends back the same way to Thuli Kharka.

Day 14 Trek to Lukla (2840 meters)
Finally, reach Lukla, from where the expedition had started. In the evening, we celebrate the successful climb of Mera Peak, definitely an adventure of a lifetime.

Day 15 Morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla and Dinner
This morning you will fly out from Lukla to Kathmandu, and upon arrival, your guide drop-off you to the hotel. A good rest after a long trek will be crucial. In the evening, you have leisure time to stroll around Thamel and do any souvenir shopping. You will join a farewell dinner in a typical Nepali Restaurant with Nepali folk music and dance. It is also the time of review the trip with your guide.

Day 16 Transfer to the airport for your final flight departure
The trip concludes today. Your guide will drop you off at the international airport for your departure.
