TECHNICAL CLIMBING ON THE WORLD’S MOST BEAUTIFUL PEAK
Ama Dablam is one of the most specÂtacÂuÂlar mounÂtains in the world and a true alpinist’s dream. This unforÂgetÂtable climb in the KhumÂbu region of Nepal involves a culÂturÂal trek into base camp, techÂniÂcal rock, snow and ice climbÂing and stunÂning panoramÂic sumÂmit views of EverÂest, Lhotse, and Makalu. We climb Lobuche Peak to accliÂmaÂtize before going to Ama Dablam. We place two to three camps along the beauÂtiÂful SouthÂwest Ridge where we have draÂmatÂic and exposed views of the Himalayas.
The Ama Dablam climb conÂtinÂues to be one of our most rewardÂing and specÂtacÂuÂlar jourÂneys. You will have a day to explore the exotÂic city of KathÂmanÂdu before flyÂing into the remote mounÂtain town of LukÂla (9,350 ft/2,850 m). We folÂlow an ancient route that takes us through tiny vilÂlages, across high mounÂtain passÂes, and gives us the opporÂtuÂniÂty to explore remote valÂleys, vilÂlages, and monasteries.
Your trip will be led by IFMÂGA cerÂtiÂfied guides and will conÂsist of guides from Nepal, the U.S., and Ecuador, dependÂing on the size of the team. Once on the mounÂtain, fixed ropes will be used to ascend the difÂfiÂcult secÂtions on the route, which will include steep rock, short secÂtions of steepÂer ice up to 70 degrees, and a long secÂtion ofsnow & ice on the sumÂmit day. The low client to guide ratio ensure the maxÂiÂmum chance for sucÂcess and attenÂtive risk manÂageÂment for each climber. High altiÂtude porters will assist in prepaÂraÂtion of camps and stockÂing camps, allowÂing you to focus on the climb.
