Carstensz Pyramid Expedition is our ultimate service to our clients who wants to climb one of the Seven Summit of The World. Approaching the mountain may be done by Helicopter or Jungle Trekking Expedition, unfortunately trekking to base camp is not available right now.. Jungle trekking expedition will take about 11 days of trekking in the dense tropical rainforest of Papua jungle, but only 4 days to be done in Helicopter expedition.
You should check carefully everything before you decide which local company you choose to join for your expedition. During the Carstensz Pyarmid trekking expedition, you will be in the tough jungle about 12 days, you must be assured get proper and enough food along the trek.
Have your heard many bad story about Carstenz Pyramid ( Puncak Jaya ) climb ? expedition cancel but not get any refund, climbers starving and only served noodle and sweet potato for 02 weeks, clients forced to pay a lot of money during trekking, expedition stop by rebel .. Helicopter expedition has no Trekking part at all.
Climber flight directly from Timika (Zero Sea Level) using helicopter to Yellow Valley (4,300 m asl), directly below the Carstensz wall. We do summit climb just below of the Carstensz wall, without passing any villages, tribal area, jungles, or meadow. Best chance to have good weather is on dry season (April – October), however it is not a guarantee that you will have good weather. Local weather is key factor that determine HELICOPTER flight chance.
We are rescheduling TREKKING Expedition departure due current situation in Sugapa (starting point of Trekking Expedition). There was very serious conflicts and riots in Sugapa between clans and tribes due regional election. Current situation on Carstensz is only reliable (safe, secure, smooth & success) with HELICOPTER Expedition. Some accidents that happened on TREKKING Expedition, triggered by unstable situation & bad management.
The top of Carstensz (4,884 m asl) could be climb on every time in a year. The mountain consist of large limestone with very rough texture of hard rock. The average difficulty level is up to 5.8, it is the only of 7 Summits that need more rock climbing skills to climb. The Carstensz condition (located in remote area) makes any attempt for summit need VERY GOOD climbing guide, BEST SUPPORTING TEAM and Great Experience to get maximum result.
Minimum days that should be spare for HELICOPTER Expedition is 14 Days. It is to anticipate any delays by the nature of Carstensz Pyramid Expedition (Weather Delays, HELICOPTER Delay, Local Issue, etc).
